Week 4 post 1
An alternate ending to the boy in the striped pyjamas is that the war didn't end but Bruno's dad realises that what he is doing is not right due the Bruno's conversation with him and frees Shemul from the camp. The war then eventually ended and all the Jewish people got released from the camp. I think the current ending is a really big twist and somewhat sudden that Bruno gets killed, but certainly, it was a very big twist to draw the readers in. I thought some of the soliders were really mean in the story but it has been a very nice book to read.

Week 3 post 2
The reason I chose Bruno is because that he was the protagonist of the story.
I met what they called the 'the Fury' today. I found him incredibly rude. Not only did he took my father 's chair, he was neither taller or stronger than my father, why should my father show him such respect, I found that unbelievable. He disregarded my sister and I, as if we weren't there. The woman standing next to him, however, was quiet nice. They called us charming and talked to us. She was very polite and also said thank you to us. The man was incredibly rude to everyone and he walks around the place as if he owns the place. It is our house in the end.

Week 3 post one
I think to now, all the book's theme and main ideas are about how Bruno a hates the new place, the differences between the new place and his old home. Bruno, Gretel and all the servants are suffering from the life apart from father and mother. We have been introduced to the idea of the camp with the same uniform, but we haven't seen so much about the boy n the striped pyjamas. There is also rascit towards the Jews. A book that explores similar ideas or themes is To Kill A Mockingbird as the book explores racism. The book is also about holocaust. Another book that explores this idea is the red scarf girl which is set in the Chinese evolution.

Week 2 post 2
Based on what I have read so far and what I've heard about the background of the story, I think there will be a heartbreaker at the end. Bruno will make a really good friend within the camp, but as the war continued on, they are forced to be separated and the boy will get killed by the Nazis. I think Bruno will have the most development in the book. As he gets older, he will understand more about the war and will have new opinion about the house.
This book is very interesting as we know more about the story than the narrator Bruno. But it makes the story more insightful.

Week 2 post one
So far, in this book there has been many conflicts, the conflict between Bruno and his family's decision to take on his father's new job. The conflict between the two children in the house and many other minor ones. These 2 have been the main conflict in the story so far. A mother conflict that is hidden and not mentioned so much was the WWII itself. The story is set in Berlin, Bermany and Out-With, Germany. I think that Bruno will undertake the most emotional and physical changes in this story as he is the main protagonist. I thinks by the end the book, he would have made connection with the new place and change his opinion on many things including the war. I think the the story will end with Bruno making friends within the camp and they eventually get killed. But Bruno helps the kids to survive in the harsh conditions by giving them support. The war will end and the boys will get released.

First week post one
After the first week of reading. I have learnt that the story was set in Germany. The story started off with a massive conflict within Bruno's family. His parents have already decided tha they were going to move houses eventhough Bruno was strongly against it.
Bruno found the new home miserable and funless. There was no one to play with as all the other children looked filthy and disgust. Bruno is still in the dark about the war and the nazis. He seemed like an innocent boy who didn't know every.
I think until now it has been a build up to the main conflict. I find this book very interesting.
